JURASSICA is a public institution dedicated to the natural sciences that comprises a museum, a botanical garden and a research and conservation centre for its collections, plus a number of satellite sites for hands-on discovery in the field.
The institution's work focuses mainly on preserving, conserving and showcasing the natural heritage of the Jura region, particularly its botany and palaeontology, along with geoscience education and academic research.
The running of JURASSICA is overseen by the not-for-profit Jules Thurmann Foundation.
