A new exhibition of photographs by Photo-Club Franches-Montagnes, called ‘Wild fauna of the Jura’, opens on 10 June 2023 in the Park of the Botanical garden.
In the shadow of the Park’s mature fir trees, where the golden rays of the setting sun fill the air and the wild animals of the Jura hold sway, a photography club was founded out of the desire to capture for ever a mystical moment experienced in the beautiful countryside – and a need to share that passion. This was what prompted the founding of Photo-Club Franches-Montagnes.
Devoted to photographing animals and nature, the club numbers around 20 members, united in their passion for photography, who share their equipment, technical expertise and knowledge of the local countryside.
Every year, Photo-Club Franches-Montagnes organises the Franches-Montagnes nature photography festival, bringing together photographers from far and wide to exhibit their stunning images for the public to admire. In addition to the festival, the club also holds occasional exhibitions both indoors and outdoors.
We are delighted to give visitors the opportunity to explore this exhibition in the Park of the Botanical garden, where they can also take in the fauna of the Jura in all its splendour. The aim is not to provide a comprehensive inventory of animals but to illustrate the artistic magic that happens when light meets animal (because, of course, photography needs light). The photographs are shown in sets of three in a variety of settings, creating large-format photographic triptychs.
We hope you enjoy the exhibition when you visit!
