Local flora and fauna

The "Local Flora and Fauna" permanent exhibition was given a contemporary makeover since 2018. It shows the different ecosystems of our region, as well as the animals that live in them. For each of these ecosystems, their typical inhabitants are shown in relation to one another. The idea is to show how these ecosystems are intimately linked and that the destruction or pollution of one habitat will inevitably impact another.

Most of the species from the previous exhibition have been kept and new ones added. Five typical biotopes are featured:

  •  Ponds, marshes and peat bogs
  •  Rivers and riverbanks
  •  Forests
  •  Forest borders, hedges and meadows
  •  Urban areas and gardens

Fauna that has disappeared from the Jura and nocturnal animals complete this overview.
