The Museum is getting a new look
The Museum will temporarily close its doors starting September 1st for a complete renovation aimed at modernizing its facilities and offering visitors a renewed museum experience.
A more accessible Museum
The renovation is expected to last approximately two years. This initiative will allow for energy upgrades and a major restoration of the Villa Beucler. An elevator will be installed, and the reception areas redesigned to better meet the needs of all audiences. The Museum will also be connected underground to the new Research and Conservation Center (CRC), which has recently been inaugurated.
A fully redesigned visitor journey
When the museum reopens, visitors will step into a completely reimagined experience. The new exhibition path will trace the evolution of Jura's landscapes, from the age of dinosaurs to the present day, with contemporary themes such as biodiversity and climate. With expanded and redesigned exhibition spaces, visitors will enjoy a much richer and more immersive experience.
You will discover exceptional specimens from the A16 excavations and, of course, the famous Allosaurus skeleton “Big Al 2”, which had already drawn crowds during a previous temporary exhibition.
A team working behind the scenes
While construction is underway, our scientists and mediation team will be busy designing the future exhibitions. In collaboration with a specialized museography agency, we will create new immersive and interactive spaces, designed for all audiences.
We’re still open!
