The JURASSICA Museum, in collaboration with the Institute of Geological Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, is organising its 2026 Paleontological Field School at Miocene sites in Armenia.
This research-focused program is designed for students in geo- and palaeo-sciences who wish to collaborate with researchers and actively contribute to fieldwork. Participants will take part in ongoing investigations at selected outcrops, gaining hands-on experience in real field conditions. The goal is to form dynamic teams that will document, sample, and (most importantly) interpret the geological archives preserved in Armenian Miocene deposits. This immersive experience will allow students to broaden their expertise and engage directly with current research questions.
The field school will take place over 10 days between October 1 and 14, 2026, depending on student availability and research team formation. Precise dates will be communicated following the selection of candidates.
Details on the field school, organisation and application preparation can be found in the enclosed PDF.
Applications must be submitted online before June 7 2026 in this form.
