The Perissodactyla Workshop will be held at the JURASSICA Museum in Porrentruy (Jura, Switzerland) from Thursday the 17th to Saturday the 19th of September 2026. For directions, see the attached map and photo at the end of this circular.

Registration

Late registration is still possible until the 15th of August: https://framaforms.org/pre-registration-perissodactyla-workshop-2026-1772188707. We can still offer two early-career grants (up to 900 CHF) and there are available slots for up to four talks.

 

Regarding payment, below is a reminder of what needs to be paid according to what you decided to attend:

Conference fees (this covers the coffee breaks, excursion, and abstract book): 35 CHF

Icebreaker (Thursday 17th of September, food and drinks): 20 CHF

Diner Friday (18th of September, 3 courses + a drink): 40 CHF

Diner Saturday (19th of September, 3 courses + a drink) 35 CHF

Posters and Communications

The deadline to send the abstract is set on the 15th of August 2026. The format is as follows:

Title (500 characters), Authors with affiliations, Abstract body (2500 characters), Keywords (up to 5), Funding sources (200 characters). The number of characters is not strict; it is just an indication. Posters should be in A0 format, portrait or landscape. Talks should last 12 minutes + 3 minutes dedicated to questions.

Excursions

Half a day of field trip in the Swiss Jura is planned on the Friday morning. This will allow us to present the localities of Pommerat with dinosaur footprints (Jurassic) and the mammal locality of Birse/Poillat (Oligocene) which is the discovery site of Epiaceratherium delemontense.

Financial contributions / Grants

Two early-career grants from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) are still available. The intend is to partially or fully cover travel, subsistence, and accommodation costs (excl. conference fees).

If you did not register, and are eligible (early career researchers such master students, PhD and young post-docs), please contact the Organization Team.

Food

Several options are available nearby, with variable budgets (10-50 CHF).  At the following link, you can find a non-exhaustive list of restaurants in Porrentruy: https://www.j3l.ch/fr/Z10474/a-faire/boire-manger/restaurants?bounds=7.06738+47.41283+7.08703+47.42752&city=Porrentruy. In addition, two nearby supermarkets (Coop and Migros) offer takeaway food, and the Coop supermarket even has a cafeteria serving a variety of dishes at very reasonable prices (15-25 CHF).

The icebreaker will take place at L’Antre Pot.es (20 CHF). Drinks (wine, beer and sodas) and food (flammekueches, charcuterie and cheese board) will be served.

The diner on Friday will be held at Hôtel de la Gare (40 CHF) and will consists in a three courses menu with one drink included.

The diner on Saturday will happen at Brasserie les Deux Clefs (35 CHF) and will also consists in a three courses menu with one drink included.

Additionally, you may explore accommodation options (Airbnb / Hotels) in the nearby areas (Saint-Ursanne, Glovelier, Delémont, CH) or even across the French border (Delle, FR). Rail and bus connections to Porrentruy are convenient and reliable.
