"Plant Fiction"

Discover the exhibition “Plant Fiction” at the JURASSICA Botanical Garden.

Affiche Plantes fiction

Plants are everywhere around us. They are essential to our lives. They feed us through cereals, fruits and vegetables. They clothe us thanks to cotton and linen. They shelter us with the wood used to build our homes. They also help heal us, as many medicines come from plants. It is therefore no surprise that plants have also found a place in our imagination, in tales, legends and great fantasy stories.

In this exhibition, JURASSICA invites you to discover famous plants from the Botanical Garden featured in fiction. From the world of Harry Potter to that of Super Mario, via Middle-earth and the Smurfs, you will see that plants often play an important role in imaginary worlds… just as they do in our own.

Made up of small cabins, this temporary exhibition is spread throughout the different areas of the Botanical Garden. From the park to the greenhouses, and around the Research and Conservation Centre, discover plants from our collections alongside their imaginary counterparts. Between science and fiction, we wish you an enchanting journey of discovery.

The temporary exhibition will be on display from 13 June 2026 to 30 May 2027. Free admission.
