Jurassica Museum

Academic internships

JURASSICA offers internships for students enrolled in tertiary education (university, higher education institutions, etc.) or professional training (e.g. AFP). Lasting from one to three months, these internships enable students to gain initial professional experience in the management of living collections (botanical garden) or natural history collections (museum), preparation/restoration, research, or mediation. A contribution to accommodation and living expenses is provided for the duration of the internship.

Applications for internships must be submitted using the form opposite:

Internship themes

The JURASSICA Museum is a natural history museum with rich zoological, geological, and paleontological collections, documenting the region's natural heritage. Internships in collections will enable students to gain initial professional experience in collections management.

Internships at the JURASSICA Botanical Garden will enable students to discover different aspects of managing living botanical collections. As far as possible, internship themes will be adapted to the student's course of study.

The JURASSICA preparation/restoration lab specializes in the preparation of paleontological objects, but also manages the restoration of all the natural history objects in the JURASSICA Museum's collection. The lab regularly hosts trainees enrolled in curation/restoration courses.

JURASSICA hosts an academic unit in geosciences whose work focuses mainly on regional paleontology. As far as possible, and depending on the student's interests, internship topics will be integrated into ongoing research projects, and may sometimes include field excavations.

In addition to permanent exhibitions, JURASSICA offers two temporary exhibitions a year, as well as a wide range of activities designed to disseminate knowledge (events, workshops). Outreach internships enable students to gain their first museum experience by participating, for example, in the development of a temporary exhibition or setting up an outreach workshop.
