The Museum also boasts a library dedicated to science and the natural history of the Jura region. With almost 11,000 publications in its catalogue, the library covers subjects as diverse as the history of science, museum studies, ecology, geoscience, biology, botany and zoology. As well as general interest titles, the library holds specialist books, journals, research papers and scientific publications. The library also keeps all the scientific documentation for the palaeontological digs carried out during construction of the Transjurane (A16) motorway.
The Museum’s library is part of the Jura Cantonal Library (BiCJ https://www.jura.ch/bicj) and acts as its scientific section. The BiCJ manages loans and consultations of items in the Museum’s library through the RBNJ (Neuchâtel and Jura Library Network) and RERO+ (Library Network of Western Switzerland) networks, of which it is a member.
