Unguided visit of the Museum: temporary exhibition: PIG!
This new temporary exhibition takes a closer look at an animal commonly found in the Jura region. Domesticated nearly 10,000 years ago, the pig soon became a regular feature of the Jura and now has a special place in our affections, imaginations and society. Highly prized meat or forbidden food, pork can divide opinion. This popular animal is also sometimes the subject of stigma. In the Jura, the pig has left an indelible mark, taking on a significant symbolic value and social importance. Through words and images, this exhibition looks at the biology of the pig, its relationship with humans and what this animal has come to mean to the Ajoie region in general and Porrentruy in particular.
