Since 2015, JURASSICA hosts an academic unit called "Service Scientifique Auxiliaire en Géosciences" (SSAG). The result of collaboration with the Department of Geosciences at the University of Fribourg, this academic unit is funded by the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI), the Canton of Jura and the Municipality of Porrentruy.
SSAG's mission is to maintain local expertise in the geosciences and to promote the region's geological and paleontological heritage through complementary academic training (theory courses, field courses, etc.) and international research projects.
JURASSICA's geosciences team gives courses and organizes field trips for various Swiss and foreign institutions (UNIFR, UNIBE, UNIGE, HE Arc, University of Florence). Our scientists regularly supervise students for professional internships or Bachelor's, Master's and PhD work. Our team is also developing particular skills in the fields of paleontological specimen preparation and scientific drawing.
The External Advisory Board (EAB) is an expert panel whose role is to advise JURASSICA's "Service Scientifique Auxilliaire en Géosciences" (SSAG) on its development and strategic choices.
